Hi there! I like your Game! The grafics are, what I like the most. It has a very calm and refreshing style to it. You would get 5 Stars from me if your game would also completely function on other browsers like firefox. I got stuck on the branches, because they where solved at the start and did not return a piece of bark. And because Construct 3 uses Chrome as a foundation to programm I played your game with Chrome and it worked just fine. Next time test it on other browsers as well ;)

Good job either way!

Hi BeARToys!
Oh but we do test the game in different browsers ;)
I had nothing on firefox... The issue you are reporting doesn't depend of the browser but something else... I thought we did fixed that one. Thanks for reporting it ;)

Good job!

I really like this game. It is easy to understand and the controls are very responive. When learning the wall jump at first I did not understand, but with some training (I needed 2 attempts to clear this game the first time) I got the basics of it. It is difficult, because you use just one hand to play. When I imagine play this game with a controller it seams easier :P

I did not get at first, that I die, when I had to much money and collected as much as I could. Maybe some hints on that part would be nice, as the theme of this Ludum Dare is broadly to understand.

But I did not like the colours of this game. Don't use such saturated colours that often, so that you can exaggerate the lasers, the spikes and the MONEY. Don't mind comments about the colour of you player. You can never make everybody happy ;)

Great job!!!! I hope you make some more levels ;)

Hi nice job finishing the game!

I tried it a few rounds, but after that it got repeatative. I ran away from the monsters and collected all I could find on my way, but never got out of the forest. A real nightmare!

I like your idea and the realisation of it, but it is really difficult to keep playing the game, when the lights are flashing and you can't differentiate between food and foe, because you run, run and run until you finally are granted death. I can not find a reson to survive as long as possible and that is, what I am missing the most in this game. A clear goal. Or maybe it was to reach levell 7? I don't know because I did not want to continue after 2 rounds. I'm sorry.

Try to make the graphics somewhat bigger, so that you can add more details, or desaturate the colours more, so that it is clear, which things are pickups and what are enemies.

The mechanics of the game are GREAT! Clear GUI, simple controls and a huge variety of items and enemies. Good job on that part!

I hope i was not too harsh :/ But good game!

Trasevol-Dog responds:

Hey! That's totally fair!

The resolution is actually limited by the game engine I used (Pico-8) and I do have to admit I went pretty wild on all the colorful effects which makes the game kind-of a mess to play. :S
The goal is indeed to get to level 7 and beyond if you can. ;)

Thanks for the feedback! :)

I really like this style of yours.

Do you remember how long it took you to create this artwork?

MLeth responds:

Oh man, I always wish I time myself when I do art but.. I rarely do art in one sitting so it's hard to time. But I usually say that for something like this it'd be anything from 6-10 hours

Beautifully drawn. It looks like you took a picture of her, while she was not looking. I like that you used less detail in the background, which puts her in the center of attention. You also used rule of threes in the composition I suppose?

Where did you took the reference for her wings? Dragonflys? Looks amazing :)

The lighting comes from above and you used rim lights ;)

And the sun in the background is well made, although I think Iwould have preffered that you used it as an actual light source it is still a great drawing.

Are you going to draw some pictures, more up to date? I mean those you uploaded are more older one. I would like to see your progress so far :)

Cheers

MLeth responds:

Thanks! I've already posted quite a few pieces I made within the past few months. I'm just kinda uploading stuff I think are good from the past few years instead of strictly going from new to old.

Hi there!
I really like your drawing and like to learn something from it.

I would like to know how many lightsources you used here. It looks for me like there are maybe 4? I can see one from the front below left, 2 rim lights from left and right and one from above for the hair? Looking at it straight ahead.

Cheers! And I wanna see more!

MLeth responds:

Seems like a fair assessment! I like to add a sharp rimlight to bring out some depth and it automatically creates some cheap but effective contrast hehe.

Glad you like the piece!
