Hi there! I like your Game! The grafics are, what I like the most. It has a very calm and refreshing style to it. You would get 5 Stars from me if your game would also completely function on other browsers like firefox. I got stuck on the branches, because they where solved at the start and did not return a piece of bark. And because Construct 3 uses Chrome as a foundation to programm I played your game with Chrome and it worked just fine. Next time test it on other browsers as well ;)

Good job either way!

Hi BeARToys!
Oh but we do test the game in different browsers ;)
I had nothing on firefox... The issue you are reporting doesn't depend of the browser but something else... I thought we did fixed that one. Thanks for reporting it ;)

Good job!

I really like this game. It is easy to understand and the controls are very responive. When learning the wall jump at first I did not understand, but with some training (I needed 2 attempts to clear this game the first time) I got the basics of it. It is difficult, because you use just one hand to play. When I imagine play this game with a controller it seams easier :P

I did not get at first, that I die, when I had to much money and collected as much as I could. Maybe some hints on that part would be nice, as the theme of this Ludum Dare is broadly to understand.

But I did not like the colours of this game. Don't use such saturated colours that often, so that you can exaggerate the lasers, the spikes and the MONEY. Don't mind comments about the colour of you player. You can never make everybody happy ;)

Great job!!!! I hope you make some more levels ;)

Hi nice job finishing the game!

I tried it a few rounds, but after that it got repeatative. I ran away from the monsters and collected all I could find on my way, but never got out of the forest. A real nightmare!

I like your idea and the realisation of it, but it is really difficult to keep playing the game, when the lights are flashing and you can't differentiate between food and foe, because you run, run and run until you finally are granted death. I can not find a reson to survive as long as possible and that is, what I am missing the most in this game. A clear goal. Or maybe it was to reach levell 7? I don't know because I did not want to continue after 2 rounds. I'm sorry.

Try to make the graphics somewhat bigger, so that you can add more details, or desaturate the colours more, so that it is clear, which things are pickups and what are enemies.

The mechanics of the game are GREAT! Clear GUI, simple controls and a huge variety of items and enemies. Good job on that part!

I hope i was not too harsh :/ But good game!

Trasevol-Dog responds:

Hey! That's totally fair!

The resolution is actually limited by the game engine I used (Pico-8) and I do have to admit I went pretty wild on all the colorful effects which makes the game kind-of a mess to play. :S
The goal is indeed to get to level 7 and beyond if you can. ;)

Thanks for the feedback! :)

Good job in creating this game! I like the simplicity and how fast you can join the game again.

The controlls are very reactive and get slow as you collect coins. nice idea.
But I agree with AlexTheGreatish. it is to easy to leave the game with coins. Although I always collectect the coins until i was full. I would suggest you, that you add more types of enemies for example with double dash or something like that. I started to activate them and then collected the coins :P

Some more suggestions: make some hindrance in the level, use the barrel to activate some switch, maybe to open the door to leave ;) And I would suggest you to change the font and background, but that is just my opinion.

Good Job!

Nicely done!

Pretty simple, but effective.
I would suggest to move the camera further away from the player, because sometime you cannot see the ground even it is the only option.
Another sugestion of mine would be to change the color themes to mono color per section as it is exausting for the eyes when the colors change that often.
Maybe some pickups? :)

Nevertheless good job!

applessmillion responds:

The visibility issue will be fixed in an update rolled out today!
I can see to modifying the colors, as I will admit the changes are quite frequent currently.

Well, you can start the Game, moving and shooting works just fine.

I would like to have an option to restart the game and a healthbar is missing. I cannot see how much dmg I took :(
Maybe a little more balancing of the incomming enemies would make the game more playble. Add some levels to it, so that the number of enemies rises with the level.

But congrats you published your first game :) Your a further than me on that point :P

Challenging? TRUE! GREAT IDEA!!

If your controlls would be working every time your score would be far higher, I suppose.
- The problem is, that you try the controlls in the first round and loose because of a mistake, so you click to start again (very addicting) but then all you can do is firing... You only get it back to work, when clicking the info window for the controlls. and that every time your restart... not very efficient,
also you should tweak the difficulty at the start, so that the player can become accustom to the controlls before failing something like shoot, rotate left, shoot, rootate left, shoot, rotate left, and then the other side.

Good job so far!

First game of this kind I have seen so far. It is working fine, your controlls are easy to understand and the functions seem to work properly. You have a start and an end screen very nice!,
I don't like your artstyle, but that is just me :)
But:
- I am missing a healthbar!
- I did not know at the start, which one was my character,
- Please add some dmg idicators, so that you can see that you hit, or that you were hit,
- let the different enemie types spawn randomly so that there is some more variation

Good game!

Dolo99 responds:

Thanks for the feedback!

Charming idea! Your art looks nice and your game is fully playable without noticable bugs, at least for me :)
Try to use a counter, when the player is ready so that there wont be any lost seconds, as you are short on time!
I played your game on PC and your screensize is not suitable for that, as the animals spawn outside of the screen :'(

Good game congrats!

174nana responds:

Thanks for the feedback.

I did try my best to iron out as many bugs as possible.

There shouldn't be any time lost as the button only appears when its ready (there is a counter).

Ya, the screen size was made for mobile and I could have made is scale but that would mean a lot more work overall and I was short of time :(

Hint: only the animals that aren't important can move or will spawn towards the edges, animal you need to abduct is always stationary and within screen. Hope that helps ;)

Congrats on finishing your game!
I like your pixelart!! The knight and the mage are well drawn, but the red guy could get some new graphis ;) It is a simple jump and run game and just the start so keep at it!
Here some tips:
- try to add an attack with the sword or it would be needless to have it.
- jumping on an enemie is not detected correctly, for exapmle if I am jumping a little to early I get hit :(,
- Add a healthbar for your character I don't know when I will die while I am playing,
- Add a progressbar so that you know how far you have come in your level,
- Add more pick ups and challenges and stay in pixelart. it looks better the graphics for the key.

But! Good work!
